About this opportunity
The Frederick J. Hoffman Award is given to the best essay by a currently enrolled graduate student (master's or doctoral level) in the Department of English at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Students apply by uploading their essay, which must be free of any identifying information to ensure anonymous scoring. The award is announced in the spring and paid in the following fall semester for awardees enrolled at UWM that fall. This award recognizes excellence in graduate-level essay writing within the English department and is funded by the Friends and Family of Frederick J. Hoffman.
