Fredrik och Ingrid Thurings Stiftelse Research Grant

Fredrik och Ingrid Thurings Stiftelse awards grants once a year for medical research. The foundation has decided to limit its purpose to psychiatric research, focusing on both children/adolescents and adults. Clinical research is given priority. Preclinical research may be considered if it has relevance to the foundation's purpose and has clinical implications. The foundation distributes approximately 5 million SEK annually, with individual grants up to 350,000 SEK. Priority is given to registered doctoral students relatively close to their dissertation defense and/or after completing their mid-term seminar, as well as researchers who have defended their thesis within the past 5 years. Exceptions to the 5-year limit may be made for parental leave. The same applicant/project can receive funding for a maximum of three consecutive years, provided that reports have been submitted for previously awarded grants. At each application period, a researcher may only submit one application as the main applicant. Applicants must conduct their research at a Swedish university or educational institution. Scholarships for financing studies fall outside the foundation's activities.
