About this opportunity

The French Centre Award for Study in Quebec is offered annually to a continuing undergraduate student who has completed first or second year in any faculty and intends to register full time from September to April at any francophone university in the province of Quebec. The award provides up to $9,500 in funding to support students pursuing French language education and cultural immersion. Preference is given to students with a major or minor in French, though students from any faculty are eligible to apply. Recipients must be registered full time but need not be carrying a full course load while studying at the Quebec institution. This scholarship is funded through a Canadian Heritage Grant and administered by the University of Calgary's School of Languages, Linguistics, Literature and Cultures. Students must demonstrate academic merit and sufficient ability in oral and written French, typically evidenced by completion of FREN 227 or equivalent coursework.
