Freshman Mississippi Resident Academic Scholarship Package

The Freshman Mississippi Resident Academic Scholarship Package is automatically awarded upon admission to Mississippi State University for first-time freshmen who are Mississippi residents. Award amounts are based on 9th through 11th grade high school GPA and test scores (SAT/ACT). MSU accepts SAT/ACT scores through the February test date of a student's senior year of high school. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years (8 semesters) provided the student maintains a minimum overall college GPA of 3.0 and continuous full-time enrollment (12 credit hours per semester at MSU). Award amounts range from $1,000 to $10,500 per year depending on academic qualifications, with total awards ranging from $4,000 to $42,000 over four years. These automatic scholarship awards may not be combined with the National Merit Semi-Finalist Scholarship Package, National Merit Finalist Scholarship Package, National Recognition Program Scholarship, or the Presidential Endowed Scholarship Package.
