Författarstipendium

This is an author's stipend offered by Litteraturnod Vimmerby in Kalmar County, Sweden. The stipend is worth 50,000 SEK and is awarded annually to support writers in their creative work. Applicants must be registered residents of Kalmar County and must submit a personal presentation of themselves and their writing career along with a current writing project (approximately 5,000 characters including spaces). All genres are considered, though children's and young adult literature is particularly prioritized as part of the organization's mission to preserve Astrid Lindgren's cultural heritage. Picture book authors may also include up to six images with their application. The selection process involves an initial review by Litteraturnod Vimmerby staff followed by evaluation by an independent jury in collaboration with Linnaeus University. The recipient is invited to a public award ceremony. The stipend is tax-free and does not require formal reporting of how the funds are used, though a brief year-end report is welcomed. No counter-performance is required, though recipients may be invited to participate in events such as the award ceremony and author discussions.
