About this opportunity
The Friends of Wellington Botanic Garden Award is a research award established to support postgraduate students at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington pursuing active botanical research. One of the roles of the Friends of Wellington Botanic Garden is to foster science and education, particularly in response to the decline in university students studying science. The award seeks to strengthen the relationship between the Garden and the University by supporting postgraduate Masters or PhD students with their associated research and educational costs. The purpose of the award is to support students conducting botanical research, with preference for research focused on plants held by the Wellington Botanic Garden specialised collections. Recipients are expected to build a productive research relationship with the Friends and the Wellington Botanic Garden, and present a summary of their research to the Friends at a meeting during the award year.
