Friluftsliv – enkelt og nært i Innlandet

This grant program aims to promote outdoor recreation in local communities throughout the Innlandet region of Norway. The program supports municipalities and outdoor recreation councils to create accessible and attractive local environments for outdoor activities, with at least one major initiative in each region. The funding focuses on developing outdoor social meeting places with universal design, ensuring accessibility for all members of the community. Supported projects include development of hiking trails, paths, and routes for year-round use; creation of green corridors and forested areas; installation of signage, lighting, benches, sanitary facilities, swimming areas, piers, and fire pits. The program also supports municipal work on state-secured outdoor recreation areas. Projects must be located in local neighborhoods where people live and gather, be open to the public free of charge, and create social outdoor meeting places with universal design. The program prioritizes larger, comprehensive projects with high quality that create added value through multi-use facilities and strengthen existing initiatives. Projects should be anchored in municipal area plans, based on thorough planning processes with user participation, and involve voluntary organizations. The funding does not support tourism/destination development or operational/maintenance costs.
