Fritidskasse i Bydel Sagene

The Fritidskasse (Leisure Fund) in Bydel Sagene is a subsidy scheme designed to partially cover losses that organizers of leisure activities experience when participants under 20 years of age are unable to pay (in full). The fund can provide support for membership fees, training fees, equipment, travel, and other costs related to activities - up to NOK 8,000 per child per year. Organizers are expected to offer deferred payment, partial payment, or payment through volunteer work options. They are also expected to seek external financing to cover such costs from sources like Coop-dugnaden and Zuccarellostiftelsen, use lending schemes, and utilize used equipment where appropriate. The subsidy is available to idealistic and voluntary organizers of leisure activities for children and youth. Participants for whom support is requested must have a residential address in Bydel Sagene and participate in regular activities. The application deadline is November 1st each year, and applications are reviewed by the Growth and Welfare Committee in Bydel Sagene.
