About this opportunity

Arendal kommunes frivillighetspris (Arendal Municipality's Volunteer Prize) is awarded annually to individuals or organizations that have done exceptional work in developing a good local community, or have performed an exceptionally large voluntary effort in humanitarian, social, or cultural work. The prize is awarded at an appropriate occasion each year and consists of a check for 10,000 Norwegian kroner and the relief sculpture 'Vi ser dere' (We see you) created by young Arendal artist Stine Jensen. The purpose of the prize is to stimulate work to develop good and stimulating local communities in accordance with overarching goals in the municipal plan and other plans, as well as to highlight and make visible voluntary efforts in the municipality. The same person or organization can only exceptionally receive the prize more than once.

Review process

The local population is encouraged to submit written and justified proposals for suitable candidates. The municipality can also nominate candidates. The awarding of the prize is decided by Arendal formannskap (executive board).
