About this opportunity

Frivillighetsprisen is an annual volunteer prize awarded by Drammen Municipality to recognize exceptional voluntary contributions. The prize is awarded to an individual, local association, or group that has distinguished themselves through voluntary work, engagement, and initiative for the benefit of individuals and society. The prize aims to highlight the intrinsic value and societal value of volunteerism by showcasing excellent examples of volunteer efforts. The winner receives 40,000 NOK in prize money and a diploma. Importantly, the winner selects which organization receives the prize money. The prize is presented by the mayor or deputy mayor in a special ceremony on December 5th, which is the UN International Volunteer Day. A jury consisting of members from the main committee for culture, sports and volunteerism, along with representatives from various municipal councils, selects the winner. The prize recognizes both long-term voluntary efforts and time-limited projects, but can only be awarded for unpaid work.
