About This Opportunity

This grant supports projects working with selected strategies for sustainable urban development, focusing on specific goal 2:1 to promote energy efficiency. The funding aims to promote energy efficiency in connection with renovation and upgrading of existing housing stock and public infrastructure through development of support structures and working methods that promote implementation and dissemination of sustainable solutions. The goal is that measures in the urban environment not only make energy use more efficient and reduce energy consumption but are also implemented with consideration for cultural heritage and residents' well-being and contribute to increased energy preparedness. Projects should develop new technical solutions that need to be tested and demonstrated to create conditions for subsequent investments to have the best possible effect for society as a whole. Municipalities, other public actors and small and medium-sized enterprises need to develop new methods and working methods for collaboration to enable implementation of new knowledge and innovations. At the same time, energy-efficient measures need to be designed so that these, in combination with social measures, contribute to healthier, greener, more accessible and resilient residential environments.
