About This Opportunity

This funding opportunity supports development projects and feasibility studies that promote smart and sustainable water supply and water management. Projects should aim to increase collaboration and learning, and test and develop models and solutions that promote access to water and prevent climate-related risks related to water. The program focuses on sustainable water use within the Småland and Öarna regions (Jönköping, Kalmar, Kronoberg, and Gotland counties). Eligible activities include building collaboration and development arenas, testbeds for developing solutions, models and new technology for minimizing wastewater, developing circular systems for water reuse, developing more efficient water purification, identifying and reducing hazardous substances in water, strengthening drinking water quality, identifying climate-related risks, and developing systems for efficient use and distribution of water resources. Projects should have the potential to be structurally influential and benefit multiple organizations and companies. All projects must contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals 5 (Gender Equality) and 10 (Reduced Inequalities), as well as other relevant goals such as Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
