Förnyelsepriset

Förnyelsepriset is an innovation and renewal prize awarded by Östersunds kommun (Östersund Municipality) in Sweden. The prize recognizes renewal and improvement within all municipal and privately operated activities that are financed by the municipality. The award aims to increase utility and quality for the municipality's citizens. The prize rewards innovative work and development initiatives that create tangible benefits for citizens and communities. Winners receive monetary awards that must be used for operational development. Applications are evaluated by an examination group and winners are selected by a jury consisting of representatives both within and outside the municipal organization. The prize replaced the municipality's quality award in 2017, which had been awarded from 2008 to 2016. Note that the municipality is currently renewing the Förnyelsepriset itself, and no prize will be awarded during 2025.
