About This Opportunity

The FUEL Scholarship (Fostering Unimpeded Educational Legacies) was established to empower current and former foster care youth to earn college degrees. The program funds the gap between a student's financial-aid awards and the actual cost of attending an accredited U.S. college, including tuition, housing and living expenses. The scholarship is committed to supporting foster youth who face significant barriers in accessing a college education, noting that only 3% of former foster youth graduate from college. The initiative is dedicated to ensuring equal access to education in order to break the cycle of limited opportunities and supports foster youth in building better lives for themselves and establishing educational legacies for future generations. Awards of up to $8,000 per academic year are available and renewable annually, with amounts varying based on the discrepancy between a student's financial aid package and actual cost of college.
