Fulbright Student Grant for Norwegian Students (Studentstipend)

The Fulbright Student Grant is awarded to Norwegian students who wish to complete all or part of a master's or doctoral degree in the United States. The program is open to all fields of study and provides grants starting from NOK 200,000. The scholarship is reserved for full-time study or research in the U.S. with a minimum stay of one academic year, though PhD students and students in 5-year teacher education programs may apply for shorter stays of minimum 4 months. The program aims to support academic excellence and international educational exchange between Norway and the United States. Applicants must be Norwegian citizens who have completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent by spring 2026, and the study program must not have already been started at a U.S. university at the time of application. The grant provides financial support for tuition, living expenses, and related costs during the study period in the United States. The program is administered by the U.S.-Norway Fulbright Foundation and follows the international Fulbright selection process, with final approval by the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board appointed by the U.S. President.
