Fulbright U.S. Student Program

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects, English Teaching Assistant programs, and specialized fellowships abroad. The program offers opportunities for U.S. citizens who are graduating seniors, graduate students, young professionals, and artists to study, conduct research, or teach English in over 140 countries worldwide. The program supports academic and creative pursuits across all fields of study, with award types including Study/Research Awards for independent projects or graduate enrollment, English Teaching Assistant (ETA) Awards for classroom English instruction support, Fulbright-Fogarty Fellowships in Public Health, and Fulbright-National Geographic Award partnerships. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, hold a bachelor's degree by the award start date, and generally have limited professional experience (typically 7 years or less) in their field of application. Current students apply through their institution's Fulbright Program Adviser, while non-enrolled applicants may apply At-Large. The program emphasizes cross-cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the United States and host countries, administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) with funding from the U.S. Department of State.
