About This Opportunity

The Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) provides scholarships to help U.S. undergraduate students participate in study abroad programs. FEA awards scholarships of up to $10,000 for students who plan to study abroad for a full academic year; $5,000 for students who plan to study abroad during the fall or spring semester; and prorated awards by number of weeks in-country (with a minimum of $1,250) for students studying abroad during summer. FEA gives preference to students with demonstrated financial need and strongly encourages applications from students who represent groups that are traditionally underrepresented in education abroad. These groups include, but are not limited to, first-generation college students, minority students, and community college students. The scholarship is designed to make international education more accessible to students from diverse backgrounds who might otherwise be unable to afford study abroad opportunities.
