About this opportunity
The University of Leeds is offering fully funded PhD scholarships for PhD study in Pure Mathematics within strategic priority research areas. The Department of Pure Mathematics at Leeds is large and vibrant, comprising 18 permanent members, 8 postdocs and 33 PhD students, with wide interests and expertise in three distinct research groups: Algebra, Geometry and Analysis, and Mathematical Logic. Research areas include Algebraic groups in characteristic p, Computability Theory and Proof Theory, Conformal geometry of infinite-dimensional spaces, Geometric flows, Differential Galois theory, Dualities in convex geometry, Minimal surfaces, Model Theory, Set Theory, Spectral geometry, SubRiemannian geometry, Statistical mechanics, Topological quantum field theories, Topological solitons, and Yang-Baxter equation. The scholarship provides full academic fees together with a tax-free maintenance grant at the standard UKRI rate for 3.5 years, along with training and support. Up to 2 funded places are available through the EPSRC Doctoral Landscape Award and School of Mathematics Scholarship competitions.
