About This Opportunity

The European External Action Service (EEAS) offers a funded traineeship opportunity for young graduates interested in international relations and diplomatic work. This traineeship position is within the Trade Section of the EU Permanent Mission to the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. The program provides an opportunity to learn about the work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in the WTO. Trainees will engage in research and analysis relating to the legal, economic and political aspects of the WTO, attend internal and external meetings and conferences, provide note-taking and reporting support, assist with press and information activities, and support the social media work of the Delegation. The traineeship duration is up to 5 months in 2026, with tentative start dates in April or September 2026, subject to budget availability. Selected trainees will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses, though all costs related to travel, visa, insurance, and accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
