Funding opportunities for basic and applied research in 2020 (the 2nd call)

The Foundation for Science and Technology Development of Ton Duc Thang University (FOSTECT) announces funding opportunities for basic and applied research in 2020 (the 2nd call). The program aims to support potential research projects and promote scientific research activities at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), improve research capacity of individuals and research groups to make TDTU a strong research university in Vietnam, and enhance the quality and quantity of scientific publications, inventions or applied research into production, or file international patents. The program also seeks to promote domestic and international cooperation in basic research and applied research. Funding is provided to basic and applied research projects in all areas with the potential of publication in international scientific journals and being highly cited, or eligible for application and/or international patent registration. Basic research funding and outcomes are based on the Decision No.2099/2019/QĐ-TĐT on regulation of salary of researchers. Applied research funding depends on registered outcomes and actual expenses according to a scientific committee's recommendation. Applicants must be TDTU members or other researchers worldwide willing to develop research cooperation with TDTU. Principal investigators must have a good research record with appropriate publications in prestigious international scientific journals and high scientific citations within 03 years prior to submission. Priority is given to projects where at least 75% of the total budget is used for research activities including guiding students, funding post-doctoral researchers, attending conferences, purchasing research supplies, research collaboration, and organizing seminars.
