About this opportunity
The BSU Gane Trust Travel and Development Award provides up to £1,000 to support second-year undergraduate students studying art, design or craftsmanship at Bath Spa University. The award supports study trips abroad or development activities within the UK that will enhance students' studies and practice. There are two award categories: Category one offers £1,000 for an overseas activity such as a course, cultural visit/exchange or significant activity directly related to the student's field of study. Category two offers £500 for UK-based activities such as residencies, courses or retreats that enable students to enhance their learning and develop their skills. The trip or activity must take place between April 1, 2026 and the end of September 2026. Award recipients are expected to deliver a short presentation about how the activity influenced their practice, studies, and future career. The Gane Trust is a Bristol-based charity founded in memory of furniture designer Crofton Gane (1877-1967) that supports people engaged in all aspects of craft, design, and the arts.
