About this opportunity
The ANU College of Asia and the Pacific is delighted to invite Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to apply for the Garrurru Indigenous Undergraduate Scholarship. The objective of the Award is to address the underrepresentation of Indigenous Australians enrolled in undergraduate degree programs offered by the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific. The College aims to achieve this through the provision of support that removes some of the pressures that may be faced by students, particularly those transitioning to University life. The scholarship money will be paid to students upon enrolment who may then choose to use the funds in whichever way will support their individual study purposes most appropriately. The scholarship provides students with support to the value of $15,000 per annum for the duration of a standard undergraduate program (i.e 3 years full time for a single undergraduate degree or 4 years full time for flexible or vertical double degree). The funds can be used for any number of study support purposes, for example: accommodation, textbooks, transport, childcare, course fees or other costs associated with undertaking their course or program of study. The recipient will also be provided with pastoral support from the Tjabal Centre, and/or the Manager, Education Services within the College.
