About this opportunity
The Garton Scholarship No II for French is an undergraduate scholarship established in 1898 from a bequest from Thomas Garton of Clapham, London. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students studying in their third year of the advanced stream in French at the University of Sydney.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit to the student with the highest average mark in FRNC3633 and another 6 credit points at either FRNC2000 or FRNC3000 level in the second year of the applicable degree. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in the third year of an undergraduate degree within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and must be enrolled in FRNC3634: French 8.
No separate application is required for this scholarship, as candidates are automatically considered based on their academic performance. The scholarship is valued at $6,500 per annum for full-time students and is tenable for one year, paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester.
