About this opportunity
The Garton Scholarship No V for German is an undergraduate scholarship established in 1898 from a bequest from Thomas Garton of Clapham, London. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students in their second year of study in German at the University of Sydney's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit to the student who has completed 12 credit points of German 2000 or 3000-level units with the highest average mark in their first year. Recipients must be enrolled full-time in their second year of an undergraduate degree and be taking at least 12 credit points of intermediate or advanced German language units. The scholarship is valued at $6,500 per annum for one year, paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. No separate application is required as recipients are automatically selected based on their academic performance. To maintain eligibility, recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark of 65 each semester.
