About this opportunity
The Gary and Jennifer Swearingen Scholarship supports full-time undergraduate students accepted to Eastern Illinois University. The scholarship gives preference to graduates from specific high schools in Illinois, prioritized in the following order: St. Michael Catholic School in Sigel, St. Anthony High School in Effingham, Teutopolis High School, Mattoon High School, and Neoga High School. Recipients must maintain good academic standing, and financial need is not a consideration. The scholarship is renewable, with recipients eligible to apply again provided they continue to meet the stated criteria. The award is announced in the Spring Semester and paid the following Fall/Spring Semester. Applicants must submit a personal statement detailing their academic achievements, educational plans, extra-curricular or community activities, and explaining who or what influenced their decision to attend Eastern Illinois University.
