About this opportunity
The Gavin Wanganeen Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship is named after Gavin Wanganeen, the first Aboriginal Australian to receive an AFL life membership for playing 300 official matches. He is also a premiership star, Brownlow medalist, five-time All Australian and Best and Fairest winner in Port Adelaide Football Club. This scholarship provides financial support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled at the University of South Australia. The scholarship awards up to $5,000 per year, to a maximum of $20,000 over four years. Eligible students must maintain a grade point average of 4.0 and can be studying any area of study at the undergraduate level. Applications are assessed based on reasons for studying the current program, academic achievements, community service involvement, and future career goals.
