About This Opportunity

The Gene "Sarge" Huber Band Scholarship was established by Gene "Sarge" Huber, who served 29 years as band director at Wenatchee High School, along with his wife June during the last months of his life. Sarge believed that band students were overlooked regarding scholarships compared to athletes, despite dedicating equal amounts of time to the band program. This scholarship was created to emphasize support for students who spent significant time in the band program but had less access to scholarships. The scholarship specifically targets graduating seniors from Wenatchee High School who have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA and participated in the WHS Golden Apple Band, WHS Jazz Band, or WHS Wind Ensemble during every year they attended Wenatchee High School. Applications open January 1st with a deadline of March 1st each year.
