About This Opportunity

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences offers scholarships and research grants in astronomy and space science to doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers active at Swedish higher education institutions or other public research principals. Priority is given to researchers who have obtained their doctorate within the past seven years, with allowances for parental leave and similar circumstances. Funding may be sought for project operating costs, expenses for international stays, or conference travel where own research results are presented. Research grants of 250,000 Swedish kronor and above are disbursed to the grant administrator with a maximum of 25 percent overhead costs permitted. Scholarships of up to 250,000 Swedish kronor may be awarded and paid directly to the applicant. The total available funding for 2025 is 1,412,000 Swedish kronor. Applications must be in English and include certification from the Head of Department confirming employment and research capacity.
