About This Opportunity

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences offers scholarships and research grants in the engineering sciences to doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers active and employed at Swedish higher education institutions or other public research principals. Priority is given to researchers who have obtained their doctorate within the past seven years, taking into account deductible time for parental leave. Research grants of 250,000 Swedish kronor and above are awarded to the grant administrator, with up to 25% permitted for overhead costs. Scholarships up to 250,000 Swedish kronor are paid directly to applicants. Funding may be sought for project operating costs, international stays, or conference travel where research results are presented. The 2025 available funding totals 4,627,000 Swedish kronor, including 3,400,000 SEK specifically for practical engineering studies abroad for Swedish citizens up to 30 years of age who have knowledge of English, German, or French and possess both theoretical and practical engineering experience, and 1,227,000 SEK for other engineering sciences purposes.
