About this opportunity

Scholarships and research grants in the medical sciences offered by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Kungl. Vetenskapsakademien). The funding is available to doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers who are active and employed at a Swedish higher education institution or another public research principal. Priority is given to researchers who have obtained their doctorate within the past seven years, taking into account deductible time for parental leave. Funding may be sought for purposes such as project operating costs, expenses for international stays, or conference travel where own research results are presented. Research grants of 250,000 Swedish kronor and above may be awarded to the grant administrator with a maximum of 25 percent overhead costs permitted. Scholarships of up to 250,000 Swedish kronor may be awarded and paid directly to the applicant. The total available funding for 2025 is 1,227,000 Swedish kronor. Applications must include a certificate from the Head of Department confirming employment status and that proposed research can be conducted at the institution. Doctoral students must also attach a certificate from their supervisor.
