About This Opportunity

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences offers scholarships and research grants in the medical sciences to doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers who are active and employed at Swedish higher education institutions or other public research principals. Priority is given to researchers who have obtained their doctorate within the past seven years, with consideration for parental leave and similar circumstances. Funding may be sought for purposes such as project operating costs, expenses for international stays, or conference travel where own research results are presented. Research grants of 250,000 Swedish kronor and above are disbursed to the grant administrator (institution), with up to 25% overhead permitted. Scholarships of up to 250,000 Swedish kronor are paid directly to the applicant. The program supports medical science research activities and requires applicants to be employed at Swedish research institutions. For 2025, total available funding is 1,227,000 Swedish kronor.
