About This Opportunity

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences offers scholarships and research grants in the social sciences to doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers who are active and employed at a Swedish higher education institution or another public research principal. Priority is given to researchers who have obtained their doctorate within the past seven years, with considerations for parental leave and other deductible time. Research grants of 250,000 SEK and above are disbursed to the grant administrator with a maximum of 25 percent overhead costs, while scholarships of up to 250,000 SEK may be paid directly to the applicant. Funding may be used for project operating costs, expenses for international stays, or conference travel where research results are presented. The available funding for 2025 is 8,227,000 SEK, which includes 3,000,000 SEK specifically for outstanding young researchers in economics, 1,400,000 SEK for economic investigations of theoretical or practical significance for Sweden, and 3,827,000 SEK for other purposes within the social sciences.
