About this opportunity

The George Allen Scholarship in Mathematics Honours is an annual scholarship offered to outstanding students enrolled in the Mathematics Honours program at the University of Sydney. Established in 2025, this scholarship is funded by a bequest from Hon. George Allen to recognize academic excellence in mathematics. The scholarship provides financial support of $2,500 for one year to students who are either currently enrolled or commencing full-time studies in an Honours degree in the School of Mathematics and Statistics. The award is automatically granted based on academic merit, specifically the 3rd year Weighted Average Mark (WAM) from a completed Bachelor's degree or equivalent. No separate application is required as all eligible candidates are considered automatically. The scholarship is paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester and is intended to support students during their honours year of study in mathematics and statistics.
