About this opportunity
The George and Margaret Henderson Scholarship provides financial support to students or alumni of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music to travel overseas to further their studies as an operatic singer, pianist, or violinist. Established through the Estate of George Wallace Henderson and Margaret Trevor Henderson, this scholarship recognizes academic merit and supports international study experiences in specific musical disciplines.
Applicants must be currently enrolled at or alumni of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, be 26 years of age or younger, and seeking to study operatic studies, piano, or violin overseas. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, curriculum vitae, and a project proposal including a projected budget for overseas travel. International students may not apply if the proposed travel is to their country of citizenship.
The scholarship value and duration are determined by the Dean of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and stipulated in the offer letter to successful recipients. The scholarship is paid in a single installment and supports students pursuing advanced musical education abroad in one of the three specified areas of study.
