The George Harris Scholarship in Chemistry Honours is valued at $8,500 per annum and is tenable for one year to support students undertaking an honours program in the School of Chemistry at the University of Sydney. Established in 2023, this scholarship is supported by a generous donation from George Harris to encourage new discoveries in Chemistry. The scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit, assessed on average marks across 3000-level chemistry units previously completed. Preference may be given to applicants who demonstrate identity as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, financial hardship, long-term medical condition, regional or remote disadvantage, or carer responsibilities. Recipients must have an unconditional offer of full-time or part-time admission in an Honours degree within the School of Chemistry and be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident, or New Zealand Citizen.
