About this opportunity
The George L. Harper Memorial Scholarship was established by Mary E. Harper in memory of her husband, George L. Harper, Sr., who did not have the opportunity to attend high school, and her stepson, George L. Harper, Jr., a member of the Hilliard High School Marching Band, who was killed in a school bus accident at the age of 13. This scholarship honors their memory by supporting graduating seniors from select Hilliard, Ohio high schools who demonstrate academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, good citizenship, and financial need. The scholarship rotates annually among three Hilliard high schools, with Hilliard Davidson High School being eligible in 2024, Hilliard Darby High School in 2025, and Hilliard Bradley High School in 2026. Recipients must attend or plan to attend an educational institution in the United States.
