George McElveen III Scholarship

This scholarship was established through a generous gift by George McElveen III to support students from the USA – particularly from North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia – with an interest in golf. The scholarship forms part of the Wardlaw Scholarship scheme, established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews. The scholarship provides £10,000 per year towards tuition fees and is paid annually for the duration of the student's undergraduate programme. Selection is based on both financial need and the applicant's demonstrated interest in golf.
