About this opportunity
George Elder was an instructor at NAIT from 1968-1972 in the Biological Sciences program. He was one of the founding instructors for this program and helped to create the relevant and practical training that focused on opportunities for employment in the Renewable Resources field that NAIT still values. During this tenure at NAIT, George worked summers in Banff which provided him the opportunity to work on the first Grizzly Bear Management program within the park under the direction of the Canadian Wildlife Service. This summer employment created opportunities to establish field trips in cooperation with the National Parks as part of the Renewable Resource Curriculum.
This bursary is available to first year students enrolled in the Biological Sciences – Conservation Biology program at NAIT. It is awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement in the first semester of the program. Students must complete the application to be considered for this award.
