George W. Ballard Memorial Scholarship

The George W. Ballard Memorial Scholarship is a specific scholarship program for students enrolled in the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration curriculum at designated North Carolina community colleges. The scholarship is designed to support students pursuing technical education in HVAC fields who demonstrate financial need and commitment to their chosen field of study. Applicants must be eligible for in-state tuition and enrolled or intending to enroll at Guilford Tech Community College, Gaston College, or Alamance Community College. Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average at or above the level required for graduation and continue at the college where they were enrolled at the time of the scholarship award. The selection process considers scholastic achievement, participation in extracurricular activities, and demonstrated interest in working in the HVAC field. Recipients are selected by a scholarship committee at the North Carolina Community College System Office from applications submitted by the colleges' Financial Aid Offices.
