Georgia HERO Scholarship Program

The Georgia HERO (Helping Educate Reservists and Their Offspring) Scholarship provides financial aid to qualifying Georgia National Guard or United States military reservists who served in combat zones and their spouses and dependent children who seek a postsecondary education. The maximum amount awarded to an eligible student is $2,000 per award year. The maximum benefit is four award years for a total not to exceed $8,000. The scholarship awards on a first-come, first-served basis and as appropriate funds are available. Eligible applicants must complete Part A of the application and submit it to the Office of Financial Aid along with required documents, which will then be forwarded to the Georgia Student Finance Commission for processing.
