About This Opportunity

The Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German Academic Scholarship Foundation) sponsors students whose talent and personality shows exceptional promise for contributing to the community. The scholarship includes a monthly allowance toward the cost of study of 300 EUR and an income-dependent grant calculated according to BAföG regulations. Neither the allowance nor the grant must be paid back. The foundation also organizes a wide range of events including language courses throughout Europe, scientific events, social competence training courses, and workshops on professional orientation. Scholarship holders receive access to the Studienstiftung's network comprising more than 60,000 alumni and students worldwide. Eligible candidates include students at state or state-recognized higher education institutions in Germany, or those completing part or all of their studies at institutions in EU member states or Switzerland. Students can apply themselves or be nominated by school administration, examination offices, or lecturers. The foundation works with five selection criteria: intellectual ability, dedication and motivation, communication and articulation skills, social competence, and social commitment with broad interests.
