About this opportunity
The Gib Lane Community Fund is a community grant program established by Haymaker (Gib Lane Solar) Limited, the developer of Gib Lane Solar Farm located south-east of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. The Fund receives £10,000 annually for a 25-year period, with the first donation made in 2015. As the Fund is linked to inflation, it has grown to £15,375 in 2025, with approximately £14,800 available in grants per year.
The Fund benefits four Buckinghamshire parishes: Bierton, Hulcott, Aston Clinton, and Buckland. The funding is divided among these parishes according to how much of the solar farm development was located within each parish: Bierton (38%), Hulcott (14%), Aston Clinton (29%), and Buckland (19%).
Groups located in one of the four parishes can apply for grants ranging from £250 up to the maximum amount available for their parish that year. There is one application round per year, and applicants are encouraged to submit by the deadline even if their project does not start for several months. Applications are reviewed by GrantScape against published criteria, then presented to the relevant Parish Council for recommendations, with final decisions made by GrantScape's Board of Trustees.
