Gillian Hehir Scholarship

The Gillian Hehir Scholarship is a Foundation scholarship offered at Federation University Australia to support women pursuing postgraduate studies in Psychology. Established by Gillian Hehir, a clinical psychologist in private practice in Ballarat who completed her own studies at the University of Ballarat as a sole parent, this scholarship aims to assist women who are juggling work, study, and family commitments. The scholarship was created to give back and provide financial assistance to women who might contemplate giving up on their dream of working as a psychologist. It provides $4,000 in support to one recipient annually, recognizing the value of education particularly for women and acknowledging the challenges many face in combining studies with paid and voluntary work and family responsibilities. The scholarship is available for new or commencing domestic students enrolled in Higher Degree by Research or postgraduate programs at the Ballarat campus.
