About This Opportunity
The Gittins Family Charitable Trust Bursary, also known as the Gittins Bursary, supports students studying specific Nursing, Physiotherapy and Mechanical Engineering degree courses at the University of Leicester who might otherwise find themselves in financial difficulty. The bursary has been made possible through the generous support of the Gittins Family Charitable Trust. Successful applicants receive £1,000 per year for the duration of their degree program (three years for Mechanical Engineering and Physiotherapy, four years for Nursing). Students participating in a Year in Industry or Study Abroad year can apply for an additional £1,000 instalment to support them during their year away from campus. Applicants must be UK residents commencing full-time undergraduate study from September 2025, hold an offer of admission to eligible degree programs, have Home fee status, and have a household income below £40,000. Priority is given to applicants with household income of £25,000 or less, with consideration for those between £25,000 and £40,000 in challenging financial circumstances.
