Gloria Baylis Entrance Award

The Gloria Baylis Entrance Award is an entrance bursary valued at $18,250 provided annually to a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in Year One of any program in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo. Selection is based on academic excellence with a minimum 80% admission average, demonstrated financial need, and demonstrated interest in the area of entrepreneurship. The award is made possible by a donation from Baylis Medical Company Inc., which may also offer the recipient consideration for a work-term position. Students must complete the Admission Information Form (AIF), participate in an online video interview, and submit the University of Waterloo Entrance Bursary online application between February 1 and April 15. This award provides significant financial support to help talented engineering students with financial need pursue their studies while fostering their entrepreneurial interests.
