About This Opportunity

A scholarship valued at $20,000, awarded annually to a female graduate student who is registered full-time in a Master's or Doctoral program in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Management Sciences, or Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering program wherein women are underrepresented. The student's faculty advisor should be affiliated with WatCar or other auto-related research. The scholarship provides not only financial support but also valuable professional development opportunities including mentorship connections to GM Canada Engineers, invitations to noteworthy events hosted by General Motors of Canada Company, GM facility tours and potential access to GM vehicles for important life events. Selection is based on academic achievement (minimum cumulative average of 80% or equivalent) and demonstrated leadership experience such as participation in student teams, clubs, and volunteer activities. This fund is made possible by a donation from General Motors of Canada Company and supports women in engineering fields where they are underrepresented, promoting diversity and innovation in automotive-related research.
