About this opportunity
The GO Foundation Scholarship provides financial support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying at the University of Sydney. This undergraduate scholarship is valued at $10,000 per year and is tenable for up to 3 years, providing up to $30,000 total support for first year Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
The scholarship was established in 2024 and is funded from a gift from the Goodes O'Loughlin (GO) Foundation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. The scholarship aims to support students who demonstrate strong cultural identity or a desire to understand more regarding their cultural heritage, and who are actively engaged within their community through volunteer work or other extracurricular activities.
Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance with a pass grade of at least 50 in each subject undertaken. The scholarship is awarded based on a personal statement detailing how the scholarship will support their studies, their aspiration to work hard and achieve, their cultural identity, and their community engagement. Preference is given to applicants who can demonstrate financial hardship.
