Gold Scholarship Programme

The Gold Scholarship Programme at the University of Bath provides comprehensive support to up to 50 promising young people per year. Established in 2017 as part of the Look Further campaign, the programme offers much more than financial assistance. It provides bursaries, mentoring, and skills training to help students develop both academically and personally. The scholarships are designed to support students who might otherwise face barriers to attending university, including mature students and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Recipients gain access to volunteering opportunities, professional development, and a strong sense of belonging at Bath. The programme includes the Gold Scholarship Opportunities Fund, established in 2019, which enables scholars to undertake career-supporting activities such as volunteering work, attending conferences, elite sports camps, and taking professional qualifications. Scholars describe the programme as transformative, helping them develop softer skills and become more confident, well-rounded individuals who go on to successful careers and further study at prestigious institutions.
