About this opportunity
The Equity Awards provide a package of intentional support, designed to help level the playing field for students of colour at Goldsmiths, University of London. The awards offer £3,000 for each year of study on undergraduate programmes. Up to 30 awards are available for students starting in autumn 2025. The awards are funded by Goldsmiths alumni, friends, and one anonymous donor, with 26 awards funded directly by Goldsmiths, University of London.
To be eligible, students must qualify for Home fees, be enrolling for the first or foundation year of undergraduate study at Goldsmiths in autumn 2025, and belong to specified ethnic categories including Black/African/Caribbean/Black British, Asian/Asian British, Mixed/Multiple ethnic groups, Arab, or Gypsy or Irish Traveller. Applicants must also have a household income of under £35,000 per year, as evidenced through their Student Loans Company application.
Priority is given to applicants who demonstrate additional characteristics such as being resident in the borough of Lewisham for 3 years, living in low-participation neighbourhoods, eligibility for Free School Meals/Pupil Premium, being care experienced or estranged, having a disability affecting their study, attending non-selective state schools, being first-generation university students, or being mature students (age 25 or over). Successful applicants are selected on a competitive basis through a panel review process that considers the content and relevance of application answers.
