Good Wool Hunting Textile Design Scholarship

The Good Wool Hunting Textile Design Scholarship supports students with a passion for textile crafts who are studying a Bachelor of Design at Massey University. The scholarship is offered by Good Wool Hunting, a family-run retailer of New Zealand and imported yarns based in the Wairarapa region. The company specializes in natural fibres and values the mental health benefits that come from crafting with textiles. This undergraduate scholarship is awarded to students entering the second year of a Bachelor of Design or Bachelor of Design (Honours), majoring in Textile Design. Recipients must be enrolling in specific textile design courses focused on knitted and woven textiles. The scholarship aims to encourage students to develop a love of crafting with fibre through spinning, weaving, knitting, and crocheting. Applicants must demonstrate their passion and experience with textile crafts by submitting a portfolio of 10 items showcasing their participation in at least one of the following: spinning, weaving, knitting, or crocheting. Selection is based on both academic performance in the first year of the degree and the quality of crafting demonstrated in the portfolio.
