About this opportunity
The Gould Family Scholarship Fund is awarded to Ventura County residents who will be college sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the next academic year and will continue their education at any college or university in Ventura County. The scholarship provides $2,500 to support students pursuing higher education. Preference in the selection process is given to applicants majoring in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Natural Science, or Conservation. Additionally, preference is given to applicants who demonstrate civic engagement through community volunteerism and/or internships. Applicants must submit an essay of 500 to 700 words describing their role in community activism and/or interest in the environment, including what prompted their volunteer activities, what they have been doing to make a difference in their community, or why they are interested in the environment and conservation. If applicants have held an internship, they should discuss what they have learned and what they will take with them as they continue their education.
